Gela Tsintsadze wine cellar, Chokhatauri village Guturi

“Winemaking is a family tradition for us; even my great-grandfather's father had vineyards planted on the banks of the Supsa River. I always wanted to continue this tradition and breathe new life into the ancient Guri endemic varieties. We have consistently produced natural wines at home.

Currently, I have expanded the vineyard areas and established a new vineyard. In Akhalsheni, we have planted Sakmiela, Tetri Kamuri, Otskhanuri Saphere, Badagi, Chumuta, and, of course, the pride of Gurians, Chkhaveri. To these, an old vineyard has been added where mainly Tsolikauri and Aladasturi are grown. I've constructed a small family cellar designed to accommodate 4-5 tons of grapes and equipped with proper bottling equipment. Cosmetic work is currently underway within the cellar. We are planning to construct the upper floor of the cellar, which will include a tasting hall for guests to sample the wines we produce.”
